We bring you last week's top performances from Ukrainians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice, currently plays in France). She led Flammes to an easy victory against the league outsider Angers (3-18) 78-62 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. Berezhynska scored 12 points, had 5 boards, passed 8 assists and added 3 steals in 26 minutes on the court. Flammes Carolo Basket Ardennes (16-5) is placed second in the LFB. Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Berezhynska has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.2apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 51.4%, 3FGP: 42.2% and FT: 88.9% in 21 games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Taisia Udodenko (190-89, currently plays in Czech Republic). Udodenko led Basketball Nymburk to an easy victory against the third-ranked BLK Praha (15-7) crushing them 77-55 in the Czech Republic ZBL last Wednesday. She recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 12 rebounds. Udodenko also added 3 assists and 2 blocks. DSK Basketball Nymburk (16-6) is placed eighth in Play-Offs group. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This season Udodenko has relatively solid stats: 10.1ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 45.1%, 3FGP: 21.0% and FT: 71.7%. Ex-Regina-Basket Bar player is in the roster of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in France). She was the major contributor in a Villeneuve D'Ascq's victory against one of league's weakest teams Lyon (4-17) 80-62 in the French LFB on Saturday night. Iagupova scored 15 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals in a mere 17 minutes. Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole (15-6) is placed third in the LFB. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Iagupova has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 15.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.7apg, 1.9spg, 2FGP: 60.8%(73-120), 3FGP: 32.3% and FT: 80.3% in 21 games. Iagupova is also a member of the Ukrainian senior national team.

Forward Kateryna Rymarenko (187-90, currently plays in Poland) led Sleza Wroclaw to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked JAS FBG (6-16) crushing them 91-51 in the Polish TBLK in Sunday night's game. She recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. 1KS Sleza Wroclaw (18-4) is placed first in the TBLK. Rymarenko's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. It's Rymarenko's first season with the team. Her overall stats this year are: 9.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.3spg. Rymarenko used to play for the Ukrainian national team back in 2015.

International center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Taisia Udodenko and both played together in the last Czech Republic ZBL game. Khomenchuk led Basketball Nymburk to an easy victory against the third-ranked BLK Praha (15-7) crushing them 77-55. She recorded 14 points and blocked 4 blocks in 21 minutes. Khomenchuk has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.7apg and 2.7bpg in 20 games. She has a dual citizenship: Russian and Ukrainian. Khomenchuk plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.

Forward Kateryna Dobrikova (184-89, currently plays in Baltic League) led her Lithuanian team Suduva to a victory over the fourth-ranked Olimpia (1-5) crushing them 71-51 in the Baltic League on Tuesday night. She was MVP of the game. Dobrikova scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Suduva-Mantinga Marijampole (4-2) is placed second in group C. Her team will play only one more game in the Baltic League Second Stage. And now that game is extremely important. Dobrikova's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.2apg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Ukrainian National Team roster.

International guard Arina Bilocerkivska (170-89, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kateryna Dobrikova and both played together in the last Baltic League game. Bilocerkivska contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Olimpia (1-5) crushing them 71-51. She scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 19 minutes. Bilocerkivska averaged so far 12.3ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.1apg and 1.1spg in seven games. She is also Ukrainian national team player.

   #8. Forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (190-90, currently plays in Poland) contributed to an AZS UMCS's victory against the second-ranked Wisla Can-Pack (18-4) 66-61 in the Polish TBLK last Saturday. Dorogobuzova recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. AZS UMCS Lublin (13-9) is placed seventh in the TBLK. Dorogobuzova averaged so far 10.7ppg and 4.7rpg. She plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.

Former international center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Botas (10-12) 71-55 in the Turkish KBSL on Sunday night. Mircheva recorded 19 points in 32 minutes. Canik Belediyesi Samsun (15-12) is placed eighth in the KBSL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Mircheva averaged so far 12.4ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.3apg in 20 games. She used to play for the Ukrainian national team two years ago.

   #10. Shooting guard D'Andra Moss (178-88, also represented by LBM Management, college: VCU, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to a Mersin MBK's victory against the eighth-ranked Adana ASKI (10-12) 74-63 in a derby game in the Turkish KBSL in Sunday night's game. Moss recorded 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Mersin BK Dogus Hastanesi (5-16) is placed second from the bottom (#13) in the KBSL. They ended the series of twelve consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Moss averaged so far 10.7ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.6apg and 1.1spg. She is a naturalized American. Moss is an international player who is currently on the senior Ukrainian National Team roster. Strangely she has never played in Ukraine.

   #11. International power forward Liudmyla Naumenko (188-93, another player represented by LBM Management, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Alina Iagupova and both played together in the last French LFB game. Naumenko managed to help Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole in a victory against one of league's weakest teams Lyon 80-62. She scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. This year Naumenko's overall stats are: 1.0ppg and 2.0rpg in 14 games. She plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.

   #12. International forward Oksana Mollova (188-88, currently plays in Poland) could not help MKK Siedlce (4-18) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Mollova's good performance MKK Siedlce was crushed 103-66 at home by the higher-ranked CCC Polkowice (#5). She was the second best scorer with 13 points. This season Mollova has very high stats. She averages: 15.1ppg, 7.3rpg and 2.7apg. Mollova is also in the roster of the Ukrainian national team.

   #13. Former U20 international center Anna Kiriienko (190-93, currently plays in France) helped Limoges win their game against the closely-ranked Dunkerque 77-72 in the French LF2 (second division) last Saturday. She recorded 8 points. Kiriienko's total stats this season are: 6.7ppg and 4.2rpg. She used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team four years ago.

   #14. International power forward Ganna Zarytska (187-86, currently plays in Kazakhstan) was the main contributor in an Astana Tigers' victory against the league outsider Okzhetpes crushing them 90-63 in the Kazakhstan D1 on Sunday night. Zarytska was the best player in that game. She scored 24 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists in a mere 18 minutes. Zarytska averaged so far 10.7ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.8apg in 11 games. She plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.

   #15. International guard Olga Dubrovina (170-87, currently plays in Kazakhstan) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ganna Zarytska. But that was another game of her team in Kazakhstan D1 which we would like to mention. Dubrovina helped Astana Tigers win their game against one of league's weakest teams Irtysh 67-61. She recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and making 10 passes. Dubrovina also added 8 rebounds. Her total stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 6.3apg and 3.1spg. Dubrovina is also in the roster of the Ukrainian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83, currently plays in France) contributed to a Nantes Reze's victory against the closely-ranked Nice (9-12) 80-71 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. She scored 6 points in 27 minutes. Nantes Reze Basket (12-11) is placed sixth in the LFB. Andreyeva's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Andreyeva has been at the team for twelve years. This season her total stats are: 5.7ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.5apg in 20 games she played so far. Andreyeva has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and French.

   #2. Olena Staschuk (192-C-85, currently plays in Turkey) could not help Urla BLD (15-17) in their last game. Despite her very good performance Urla BLD lost 56-67 at home to the higher-ranked (#9) Mersin Gelisim. Staschuk had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 16 rebounds in 38 minutes. Staschuk has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 18.6ppg, 11.8rpg, 1.7apg, 1.6bpg and 1.5spg in 20 games.

Talented International Center Kristina Karp (196-C-98) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Interkhim and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3. The 19-year old center had a double-double of 14 points and nineteen rebounds, while her team beat Dynamo-NPU (#5, 2-3) 60-52. Interkhim maintains the 2nd position in Ukrainian Superleague. We bring you last week's top performances from Ukrainians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management). She could not help one of league's weakest teams Cukurova (1-1) in their last game. Despite Iagupova's very good performance Cukurova lost 83-93 on the road to the higher-ranked (#6) Yakin Dogu BGD.    [read more]

Superleague Round 3: Kyiv Basket hands first defeat to Interkhim - 4 days ago
It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Superleague, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Interkhim (4-1) on the court of Kyiv Basket on Thursday night.
