Russia U16 - England U16 68:57

Russia accounted for the third straight win at the classification round Group G of U16 European Championship. They denied England to remain on top of the ladder. Alexander Gavrilov (192-PG-96) scored 14 points to lead the winners. England fell at 1-2 record after the loss.
England led by as many as 8 points at the first intermission 23:16. Russia slowed their opponents down in the second frame. They cut the deficit to 4-point mark at halftime 33:29. Russia went on a decisive rally in the third quarter. They exploded with a 27:10 surge to clear off. Russia entered the fourth frame leading by 13 points and never allowed England closer than 9 points throughout the fourth frame. Ilya Karpenkov (200-C-97) posted 13 points, while Maxim Morozov (202-PF-96) contributed 12 points and 13 boards for the winners. Joe Mvuezolo (193-SF-96) answered with 11 points for England. Jules Akodo (G-96) had 10 points in the loss.
