UNITED KINGDOM - BRAZIL 66-78

Brazil avoided last place in Group B of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They handed 78-66 loss to United Kingdom to finish as the fifth ranked team in this pool. UK closes the standings with 0-5. Both teams failed to reach the Quarterfinals and already said goodbye to this edition of the Olympics. Brazil was up by 3 at the halftime and made 25-17 after the breather. That was too much for UK. Clarissa Dos Santos (187-C-88) stepped up for Brazil with double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Erika De Souza (197-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) also was great adding 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Adriana Pinto (170-SG-78) helped with 15 points and 12 assists. The hosts got 15 points and 11 rebounds from Natalie Stafford (175-SG-76). Johannah Leedham (180-SF-87, college: Franklin Pierce) (6 rebs) and Julie Page (188-PF-83, college: E.Washington) (5 rebs) netted 12 and 11 points respectively. Tournament continues on Tuesday, but without Brazil and UK.
