The prestigious BBL Cup is once again the first piece of silverware on offer this season and the potential line-up for the last eight looks a mouth-watering prospect.

The journey to the final destination of the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on Sunday 13th January begins next month with the First Round match-ups.

But, both those teams participating in the initial phase and also those who received a bye straight into the last eight, now all know who they will have to defeat on the weekend of 2-4 November in order to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

The BBL Cup Quarter Finals will be as follows:

Game 1 - Tigers or Heat v Raiders

Game 2 - Sharks or Jets v Rocks or Giants

Game 3 - Eagles v Wolves

Game 4 - Lions or Wildcats v Riders

However, before some teams can join the likes of Newcastle Eagles, UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders, Worcester Wolves and Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders who were all handed a direct pass to the last eight by way of their lofty league positions last year, they must get past the First Round.

The First Round BBL Cup fixtures are as follows:

7 October 2012: London Lions v Durham Wildcats

12 October 2012: Mersey Tigers v Surrey Heat

12 October 2012: One Health Sharks Sheffield v Cheshire Jets

14 October 2012: Glasgow Rocks v Manchester Giants
