The British Basketball League (BBL) is throwing its support behind the YMCA World Challenge.

The BBL member clubs will be participating in this hugely exciting global event in a variety of different ways, as over 5 million people are mobilised on the same day to celebrate the empowerment of young people via a collective 'basketball shoot' right around the world.

This will be further complimented by a range of other basketball related activities with the aim of the YMCA World Challenge to promote how the YMCA is empowering young people and transforming communities through culture, sport, education, spiritual development and a host of other activities.

BBL clubs will be running initiatives on game nights during this weekend of activity and also attending various community programmes across the country which have been set up by local YMCA organisations.

The main day of the Challenge will be the 13th October with everyone involved encouraged by the YMCA to send photos which will be published on a special website on the same day.

For more information you can go to the YMCA World Challenge website: http://challenge.ymca.int
