We bring you last week's top performances from British players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Kristie Sheils
Kristie Sheils
#1. This week's number one is U20 international point guard Kristie Sheils (173-91, currently plays in Canada). She led University of Calgary to a victory over the Alberta (3-1) 76-72 in the Canadian university league CIS in Friday night's game. Sheils was MVP of the game. She recorded 27 points (!!!) and had 3 steals in 35 minutes on the court. The University of Calgary has 4-0 record this season. So far her team won all four games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Sheils' first year with the team. Sheils is currently ninth on the list of top scorers with 15.5ppg. She also averaged so far 4.0rpg, 2.3apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 42.9%, 3FGP: 46.2%(12-26) in the four games she played so far. Sheils played for the British U20 national team one years ago.

Kimberly Butler
Kimberly Butler
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Kimberly Butler (186-82, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Latvia). Butler contributed to Cesis' victory against the closely-ranked TTT Riga (5-1) 70-62 in the Latvian LSBL on Saturday night. She scored 7 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 30 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SK Cesis (6-0) is placed first in the LSBL. So far her team won all six games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Butler's first season with the team. This year Butler averages: 7.0ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.5apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 27.3% and FT: 66.7% in the two games. She is a naturalized American. Butler is in the roster of the British senior national team. Strangely she has never played in United Kingdom.

Chantelle Handy
Chantelle Handy

Handy could not help Mersin (1-3) to beat Tarsus Bld (2-2). She recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Mersin was defeated 80-73 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Tarsus Bld (#8). But the season just started, so everything may happen. Handy has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 41.7%, 3FGP: 22.7% and FT: 87.5%. She is also a member of the British senior national team.

Gemma Bullard
#5. U20 international forward Gemma Bullard (177-92, currently plays in Canada), who plays in the Canadian CIS was not able to help the Queen's (2-0) in their last game on Friday. Despite Bullard's very good performance the Queen's were defeated 68-64 at home by the Laurier. She was the top scorer with 16 points. Bullard also added 9 rebounds. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Bullard has reliable stats this season: 11.5ppg and 5.5rpg. She has a dual citizenship: British and Canadian. She was the best player in that game. Tomlinson recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. She also added and 3 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Tomlinson's second season in pro basketball. Saces Dike Napoli (5-2) is placed fourth in South group. Tomlinson is currently fourth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). She has individually a very good season with high stats. Despite Tomlinson's British passport, she currently plays for the Australian university national team and is not eligible to play for the British team.

She scored only 4 points in 7 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Canberra TransAct Capitals (5-3) are placed fourth in the WNBL. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Bunton's overall stats are: 2.0ppg and 2.3rpg in the three games she played so far. She is another player who holds two passports: British and Australian.

#3. Shona Thorburn (178-G-82, college: Utah, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB could not help Aix-en-Provence (2-6) to beat Toulouse (5-3).
