We bring you last week's top performances from British players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Luol Deng (206-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Duke, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Deng could not help the Chicago Bulls (6-7) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Chicago Bulls were defeated 93-89 on the road by the Houston Rockets. Deng recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Deng's ninth year with the team. Deng has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.2ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 49.7%, 3FGP: 27.9%. Deng has a dual citizenship: British and Sudanese. He is currently a member of the British senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Ben Gordon (188-83, college: Connecticut, currently plays in NBA). Gordon led Charlotte Bobcats to a double overtime (!!!) victory against the Washington Wizards (0-12) 108-106 in the NBA on Saturday night. He recorded 19 points in 31 minutes. The Charlotte Bobcats have 7-6 record this season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Gordon has very impressive stats this year: 12.4ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 43.2%, 3FGP: 37.0% and FT: 80.8% in the 11 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Gordon is in the roster of the British senior national team. Strangely he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #3. The British player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Dante Cunningham (203-87, college: Villanova, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to a Minnesota Timberwolves' victory against the Sacramento Kings (4-10) 97-89 in the NBA last Tuesday. Cunningham recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 16 minutes. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 6-7 record this season. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. It's Cunningham's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season: 8.2ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 53.2% in the 13 games. Cunningham is a naturalized American. He played for the British national team four years ago. Apparently Cunningham has never played in United Kingdom.

Power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, agency: Top Notch Sports, college: Bellarmine, currently plays in Japan) led Okinawa GK to a victory over the fifth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (8-6) 80-71 in the Japanese BJ League last Saturday. Larkai was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (12-0) is placed first in Western group. So far his team won all twelve games in the Regular Season. Larkai's overall stats this season are: 7.1ppg and 5.4rpg. He used to play for the British national team back in 2008.

   #5. International forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, also represented by Interperformances, college: Washington, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Serbia was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Radnicki KG (5-5) in their last game. Despite Bryan-Amaning's good performance Radnicki KG was edged 80-78 in Podgorica by the higher-ranked (#5) Buducnost. He was the second best scorer with 14 points in a mere 18 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Bryan-Amaning's second season in pro basketball. It was Radnicki KG's first loss after three consecutive victories. It's Bryan-Amaning's first year with the team. This season his overall stats are: 8.0ppg and 4.1rpg in the 10 games. Bryan-Amaning is another player who holds two passports: Ghanian and British. He plays currently for the British national team.

   #6. Forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) was not able to secure a victory for FCM Ferentino (1-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Ekperigin's very good performance FCM Ferentino was edged in an overtime 75-74 in Brescia by the much higher-ranked C.de Latte BRE (#4). He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. It's Ekperigin's first season with the team. Ekperigin is currently second on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fourth place). This season he has very high stats. Ekperigin averages: 17.1ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.3bpg and 2.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Ekperigin is international player as he played for the British senior team one years ago. Interesting that he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #7. International power forward Daniel Clark (210-88, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Asefa Estudiantes (5-4) in their game against Assignia Manresa (1-8) in the Spanish ACB. He scored 6 points. Asefa Estudiantes was defeated 98-89 in Manresa by the much lower-ranked Assignia (#15). Clark has been at the team for four years. Clark's total stats this season are: 2.8ppg and 2.6rpg. He is also British national team player.

   #8. Power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (1-6) in their game against Unicaja Malaga (6-1) in the Euroleague. Richards recorded only 4 points and blocked 2 blocks in 11 minutes. The sixth-placed Asseco Prokom Gdynia lost 48-63 in Malaga to the leading Unicaja in the group B of Euroleague. It was Asseco Prokom Gdynia's fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Richards' total stats are: 3.5ppg and 1.5rpg in the two games. He used to play for the British national team last year.

Former international power forward Tafari Toney (203-86, currently plays in France), who plays in the French ProB (second division) couldn't help Charleville-Mezieres (3-7) in their last game on Friday. Despite Toney's very good performance Charleville-Mezieres was crushed 86-63 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Chalons-Reims (#5). He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. Toney also added and 3 steals. This season Toney has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.7spg. He is a naturalized American. Toney used to play for the British national team three years ago. He played also for Newcastle Eagles in British league.

Forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Loyola Mary win their game against the Texas State University at San Marcos 78-63 in the NCAA on Friday night. Hamilton had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 14 rebounds in 33 minutes. The Loyola Marymount University has conference record this season. Hamilton is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Loyola Mary's roster. He has reliable stats this season: 11.4ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.7spg in the 11 games. Hamilton is international player as one years ago he still played for the British senior national team.

   #11. International forward Myles Hesson (195-90, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a Weissenhorn Youngstars' victory against the sixth-ranked Licher Baeren 68-58 in the German ProB (third division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 12 points, had 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Hesson is currently third on the list of best blockers. This season he has very high stats. Hesson averages: 16.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.6bpg and 1.1spg. He plays currently for the British national team.

   #12. Former U20 international forward Will Neighbour (208-90, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the UALR in their last game. Despite Neighbour's very good performance the UALR lost 62-74 at home to the University of South Carolina. He scored 19 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 27 minutes. Neighbour has very impressive stats this year: 16.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.6bpg and 1.1spg in the nine games. He used to play for the British U20 national team back in 2010.

   #13. International center Eric Boateng (208-85, another player represented by Interperformances, college: Arizona St., currently plays in Germany) helped New Yorker Phantoms win their game against the eighth-ranked Bayern Muenchen 78-73 in the German BBL on Saturday night. Boateng recorded 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. He has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1bpg. Boateng is also British national team player.

   #14. International point guard Ogooluwa Adegboye (182-87, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Cyprus) helped Etha win their game against one of league's weakest teams Apollon 73-63 in the Cypriot Division A last Friday. Adegboye scored 11 points and added 3 assists. He is currently fourth on the list of best passers. Adegboye has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.2apg and 1.4spg. He plays currently for the British national team.

   #15. International guard Kyle Johnson (195-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Sutor Montegranaro in their game against Armani Milano in the Italian SerieA. He scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. His team was defeated 82-76. Johnson has averaged so far 6.1ppg and 3.8rpg. He is also in the roster of the British national team.

   #1. Byron Mullens (213-C-89, college: Ohio St., currently plays in NBA) led Charlotte Bobcats to a double overtime (!!!) victory over the Washington Wizards (0-12) 108-106 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Mullens recorded 27 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 46 minutes. The Charlotte Bobcats have 7-6 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Mullens has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.4ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg in the 13 games he played so far. Mullens is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #2. Experienced Darren Phillip (201-F-78, college: Fairfield, currently plays in Argentina) led Union Progresista to a surprising victory over the fifth-ranked Libertad Sunchales (11-6) 98-94 in the Argentinian LigaA in Sunday night's game. Phillip was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points and getting 10 rebounds. Phillip also added 3 blocks (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Union Progresista (7-11) is placed 13th in the LigaA. It's Phillip's first season with the team. Phillip is currently first on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). This season he has very high stats. Phillip averages: 20.4ppg, 12.5rpg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Phillip has never played in United Kingdom.

   #3. Oladapo Ayuba (198-F-86, college: UMKC, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Sweden could not help Norrkoping Dolphins (2-2) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance the second-placed Norrkoping Dolphins was badly defeated 69-51 on the road by the leading Ventspils in the group C of EuroChallenge. Ayuba recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting the same number of rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the EuroChallenge Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Ayuba is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Norrkoping Dolphins' roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.3apg. Ayuba is a naturalized American. Interesting that he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #4. Keith Rendleman (203-F-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) led NC-Wilmington to a 1-point victory against the Hampton University 61-60 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. Rendleman had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 15 rebounds in 37 minutes. The Univ. of N.Carolina-Wilmington has conference record this season. Rendleman is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in NC-Wilmington's roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.3apg in the four games.

   #5. Lee Jeka (187-G-83, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany) led Science City Jena to a victory against the 14th-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (3-8) 101-93 in the German ProA (second division) last Saturday. Jeka had a double-double by scoring 15 points and making 10 passes. He also added 8 rebounds in 27 minutes. Science City Jena (6-5) is placed seventh in the ProA. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Jeka is currently seventh on the league's list of best passers with 4.8apg. This year he also averages: 12.5ppg and 3.5rpg in the 11 games. Jeka has a dual citizenship: British and Australian.

   #6. Sullivan Phillips (198-G/F-79, college: Wash.Adventist, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked NBC crushing them 93-69 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 30 minutes. Phillips' stats this year are: 12.1ppg, 5.9rpg and 4.2apg in the 11 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Bermudas and British.

   #7. Paul Guede (195-G/F-87, agency: Interperformances, college: Portland St., currently plays in Germany) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sullivan Phillips and both played together in the last German ProA game. Guede contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked NBC crushing them 93-69. He scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. Guede has averaged so far 7.6ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.4apg in the 11 games.

   #8. Brendon Polyblank (197-G/F-78, college: Texas St., currently plays in Switzerland) was the major contributor in an overtime Fribourg's victory against the fifth-ranked Lugano Tigers 78-71 in the Swiss LNA last Saturday. Polyblank scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 43 minutes. He has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg in the eight games. Polyblank has both British and New Zealand nationalities.

   #9. Mike Helsby (195-G/F-89, currently plays in Canada) was not able to help the Waterloo University in their game against the Voyageurs in the Canadian university league CIS. Despite his very good performance last Friday He was the top scorer with 14 points. Helsby also added 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 5.3rpg, 4.3apg and 1.3spg. Helsby also holds two passports: British and Canadian.

   #10. Andrew Thomson (205-F-84, college: Catawba, currently plays in France) contributed to a 2-point La Rochelle's victory against the closely-ranked Angers BC 49 75-73 in the French NM1 (third division) on Saturday night. He recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Thomson has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.1spg.

Bottom-ranked Westminster W. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to tenth ranked Lancashire S (4-6) 95-86 on Saturday evening. Lancashire S moved-up to eighth place. Westminster W. at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Lancashire S are looking forward to face higher ranked Solent K. Paul James celebrated 500 BBL wins on a special night in front of the BBC Sport cameras, while Glasgow Rocks have the edge in their BBL Cup Semi-Final.
