Aron Baynes
23-year old power forward Kareem Maddox (202-F/C-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Newcastle E. and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Cheshire Jets (#8, 4-8) with 23-point margin 96-73. Newcastle E. maintains the 2nd position in British league. Newcastle E. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. Maddox turned to be Newcastle E.'s top player in his first season with the team. Princeton University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Maddox is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.3rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 56.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mike Tuck (201-F-83) of Sheffield S.. He is naturalized Canadian forward in his 3rd season at Sheffield S.. In the last game Tuck recorded impressive 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he lead Sheffield S. to another comfortable win 88-73 over slightly lower-ranked Durham W. (#10, 3-9) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Sheffield S. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Sheffield S. managed to get this year. Tuck is one of the most experienced players at Sheffield S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Alif Bland (203-C) of Cheshire Jets (#8). Bland scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Cheshire Jets, leading his team to a 92-65 easy win against Mersey Tigers (#12, 0-12). The chances of Cheshire Jets not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bland could try to bring Cheshire Jets' a little bit higher in the standings. Bland has individually a great season in United Kingdom. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.3rpg (9th best). He also has 2.4bpg and FGP: 55.4%.
