Here is the weekly review of the top performing British players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Luol Deng (206-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Duke, currently plays in NBA). He led Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (10-8) 93-88 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Deng was MVP of the game. He scored 25 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 42 minutes on the court. The Chicago Bulls have 8-8 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Deng's ninth year with the team. Deng has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.0ppg, 7.4rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 49.2%, 3FGP: 30.6% and FT: 82.1% in the 16 games he played so far. Deng has a dual citizenship: British and Sudanese. He is currently a member of the British senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Ben Gordon (188-83, college: Connecticut, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Gordon could not help the Charlotte Bobcats (7-9) in their last game on Monday. Despite his very good performance the Charlotte Bobcats were defeated in an overtime 118-112 on the road by the Portland Trail Blazers. Gordon was the top scorer with 29 points. He also added 5 passes. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Gordon's first year with the team. This season Gordon has very high stats. He averages: 15.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.9apg, 2FGP: 42.2%, 3FGP: 48.6%(35-72) and FT: 85.3%. Gordon is a naturalized American. He is in the roster of the British senior national team. Strangely Gordon has never played in United Kingdom.

   #3. The British player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Dante Cunningham (203-87, college: Villanova, currently plays in NBA). Cunningham contributed to an easy victory against the Philadelphia 76ers (10-8) 105-88 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. He scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 8-8 record this season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Cunningham has relatively good stats this season: 8.1ppg, 4.9rpg and FT: 71.4%. He is a naturalized American. Cunningham played for the British national team four years ago. Apparently he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #4. Forward Joel Freeland (208-87, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a double overtime (!!!) Portland Trail Blazers' victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (4-14) 118-117 in the NBA last Saturday. Freeland scored 8 points in only 12 minutes. The Portland Trail Blazers have 8-10 record this season. It's Freeland's first year with the team. This year his overall stats are: 2.4ppg and 2.0rpg in the 10 games. Freeland is also British national team player.

International center Eric Boateng (208-85, also represented by Interperformances, college: Arizona St., currently plays in Germany) was the main contributor in a New Yorker Phantoms' victory against the league outsider LTi 46ers (2-9) 76-65 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Boateng scored 21 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 29 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig (4-7) is placed 15th in the BBL. This year Boateng's total stats are: 7.3ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.2bpg in the 11 games. He is another player who holds two passports: British and Ghanian. Boateng plays currently for the British national team.

Forward Myles Hesson (195-90, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Germany) helped Weissenhorn Youngstars win their game against the sixth-ranked Fraport Skyliners II (5-5) crushing them 83-56 in the German ProB (third division) on Saturday night. He was the top player that evening. Hesson recorded 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 30 minutes. Weissenhorn Youngstars (7-3) is placed second in Group South. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Hesson's first season with the team. Hesson belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #4 with 1.6bpg. This year his other stats are: 17.4ppg and 8.6rpg in the 10 games. Hesson is an international player who is currently on the senior British National Team roster.

Former international power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, agency: Top Notch Sports, college: Bellarmine, currently plays in Japan) helped Okinawa GK win their game against the fifth-ranked Oita Heat Devils (9-7) crushing them 100-68 in the Japanese BJ League in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 14 rebounds. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (14-0) is placed first in Western group. So far his team won all fourteen games in the Regular Season. Larkai has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 6.2rpg. He used to play for the British national team four years ago.

Point guard Ogooluwa Adegboye (182-87, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Cyprus) helped Etha win their game against one of league's weakest teams AEL (1-5) 85-72 in the Cypriot Division A last Friday. Adegboye scored 16 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals in 40 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia (4-2) is placed third in the Division A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Adegboye is currently fourth on the list of best passers with 4.2apg. This year he also averages: 10.7ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.7spg in the six games. Adegboye plays currently for the British national team.

International forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) was not able to help FCM Ferentino (1-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked FCM Ferentino was edged 88-87 at home by the higher-ranked Aget Service IM (#13). Ekperigin recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds. Ekperigin is currently second on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). This season he has very high stats. Ekperigin averages: 17.0ppg, 11.1rpg, 1.1bpg and 2.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Ekperigin used to play for the British national team last year. Interesting that he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #10. Forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Loyola Mary win their game against the Portland State University 66-56 in the NCAA last Saturday. He scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The Loyola Marymount University has conference record this season. Hamilton is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Loyola Mary's roster. Hamilton has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.4apg. He is international player as one years ago he still played for the British senior national team.

   #11. International guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, currently studies in the States) helped Charleston win their game against the Charleston Southern University 72-67 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Lawrence scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line). This season Lawrence has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 4.0apg. He plays currently for the British national team.

   #12. International point guard Justin Robinson (187-87, another player represented by Two Points, college: Rider, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for BC Kyiv (4-13) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Robinson's good performance BC Kyiv was defeated 83-72 on their home court in Kyiv by the leading Ferro-ZNTU. He recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Robinson has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.5apg. He used to play for the British national team last year.

   #13. Former U20 international forward Will Neighbour (208-90, is currently at the American university) helped UALR edge the Troy University 58-56 in the NCAA last Thursday. Neighbour recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Neighbour has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the British U20 national team two years ago.

   #14. International power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Asseco Prokom Gdynia in their game against ALBA Berlin in the Euroleague. Richards cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. His team was edged 67-64. Richards has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 2.3rpg in the three games. He used to play for the British national team last year.

   #15. Former U20 international center Abodurin Olaseni (208-91, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Iowa win their game against the University of South Dakota crushing them 87-63 in the NCAA in Tuesday night's game. Olaseni scored 8 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Olaseni has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 2.3rpg. He used to play for the British U20 national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have British passport but never been selected to any of British national teams:

   #1. Byron Mullens (213-C-89, college: Ohio St., currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Charlotte Bobcats (7-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Charlotte Bobcats lost in an overtime 112-118 on the road to the Portland Trail Blazers. Mullens had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting the same number of rebounds in 41 minutes. It was Bobcats' fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Mullens has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.9ppg, 8.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in the 16 games he played so far. Mullens is a naturalized American. Apparently he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #2. Experienced Darren Phillip (201-F-78, college: Fairfield, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to help Union Progresista (7-13) in their game against Wuber-Est.Bahia (9-10) in the Argentinian LigaA. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Phillip also added 9 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls. It's Phillip's first season with the team. Phillip is currently first on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). This season he has very high stats. Phillip averages: 19.6ppg, 12.2rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized American. Interesting that Phillip has never played in United Kingdom.

   #3. Oladapo Ayuba (198-F-86, college: UMKC, currently plays in Sweden) led Norrkoping Dolphins to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Solna Vikings (8-7) 91-76 in the Swedish Basketligan last Friday. He scored 15 points. Norrkoping Dolphins (10-0) is placed first in the Basketligan. So far his team won all ten games in the Regular Season. Ayuba is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Norrkoping Dolphins' roster. This season Ayuba has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg and 5.4rpg. He is a naturalized American. Interesting that Ayuba has never played in United Kingdom.

   #4. Paul Guede (195-G/F-87, agency: Interperformances, college: Portland St., currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a BG Goettingen's victory against the league leader BV Chemnitz 99 (10-0) 76-69 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Guede scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BG Goettingen (9-3) is placed first in the ProA. Guede has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.4apg in the 12 games.

   #5. Sullivan Phillips (198-G/F-79, college: Wash.Adventist, currently plays in Germany) is a teammate of previously mentioned Paul Guede and both played together in the last German ProA game. Phillips led BG Goettingen to a victory against the league leader BV Chemnitz 99 (10-0) 76-69. He scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. This year Phillips has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 4.0apg in the 12 games. He has a dual citizenship: Bermudas and British.

   #6. Daryl Corletto (193-G-81, currently plays in Australia) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Melbourne Tigers crushing them 94-64 in the Australian NBL last Friday. Corletto scored 9 points in 17 minutes. Corletto has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 1.4rpg in the 10 games. He is another player who holds two passports: British and Australian. Despite Corletto's British nationality, he previously played for the Australian U22 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the British team.

   #7. Brendon Polyblank (197-G/F-78, college: Texas St., currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Monthey 81-64 in the Swiss LNA in Sunday night's game. Polyblank scored 10 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes. Polyblank has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg in the nine games. He has both British and New Zealand nationalities.

   #8. Lee Jeka (187-G-83, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Science City Jena's victory against the league outsider USC Leipzig 97-90 in the German ProA (second division) on Saturday night. Jeka scored 10 points and added 6 passes. Jeka is ranked fifth on the list of the best passers in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 4.9apg. Jeka also holds two passports: British and Australian.

   #9. Randall Hanke (211-F/C-84, college: Providence, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Oladapo Ayuba and both played together in the last Swedish Basketligan game. Hanke managed to help Norrkoping Dolphins in a victory against the seventh-ranked Solna Vikings 91-76. He scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. Hanke has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 3.2rpg in the 12 games. He is a naturalized American. Hanke used to play for SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks in British league.

   #10. Keith Rendleman (203-F-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the NC-Wilmington in their game against the Marshall University in the NCAA. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. His team was edged 61-58. Rendleman has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 3.2rpg in the 12 games.

Carrefour El Bulevar de Avila (LEB Silver) landed 25-year old British small forward William Hall (201-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management).
