Naturalized American guard Ralph Bucci (193-G-75) had a great game in the last round for Durham W., receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 37-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team Durham W. maintains the 11th position in American BBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 11 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Bucci had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Durham W. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former College of Saint Rose star has very solid stats this year. Bucci is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.4rpg), assists (5th best: 4.4apg) and averages impressive 68.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Kareem Maddox (202-F/C-89) of league's second-best Newcastle E.. Maddox had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Newcastle E. to edge slightly lower-ranked Plymouth R. (#4, 8-5) 73-70. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Newcastle E. consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 11 matches. Maddox is a newcomer at Newcastle E., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Lithuanian center Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80) of Worcester W. (#5). Masiulis scored 20 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Worcester W., leading his team to a 88-73 easy win against the higher-ranked Newcastle E. (#2, 11-2). Worcester W. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Masiulis has a very solid season. In 14 games in United Kingdom he scored 13.1ppg. He also has 7.7rpg and FGP: 54.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Chavis Holmes (193-G-86) of Surrey Heat - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Chez Marks (191-G-80) of Cheshire P. - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Michael Martin (200-F-74) of London Lions - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Matt Schneck (203-C-88) of Plymouth R. - 22 points and 10 rebounds
8. Michael Ojo (195-G-89) of Plymouth R. - 31 points and 8 rebounds
9. Mike Tuck (201-F-83) of Sheffield S. - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Devan Bailey (187-G-89) of Manchester G. - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Strong GB u20 roster - May 27, 2016

A competitive pool of 22 players will battle it out to represent Great Britain at the U20 European Championship Division B in Greece this summer. There are some particularly prominent returnees from last year's U20 campaign on the initial list which could offer Head Coach, Andreas Kapoulas the benefit of continuity. They include the likes of Jules Dang Akodo, who has been playing professionally in the Slovenia Telemach League, while there is also a spot for Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye who h...   [read more]
