James Delighted With Wolves' Form - Jan 3, 2013

Worcester Wolves coach Paul James was a happy man after a successful Christmas period for his side.

The Wolves chalked up a BBL Championship victory against Glasgow Rocks and progressed to the BBL Trophy quarter-final with a win against UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders, and James was clearly delighted with the two successes for his side:

"As a team we are gradually starting to hit our stride and so I like the way we now look.

"The Rocks game was tough, but whereas before we have collapsed in the final quarter of games, we are now doing the right things and coming out with good wins. Kai Williams, Arturas [Masiulis] and Stan [Ocitti] have all done well, but it has been the team effort that has allowed them to be successful. Gareth Murray did well for them.

"Against Raiders, I did not think that this was our best performance this season as we shot the ball poorly in this game. However I was delighted that we stuck to the game plan and finally made some shots in the fourth quarter that saw us pull clear of the Raiders. Arturas again had a big game for us as did Arnas [Kazlauskas] and Stan, but it was the teams battling performance that pleased me most.

"Javarris Barnett had a good game for Plymouth."

Wolves return to action on Saturday with a key BBL Championship game against high-flying Jelson Homes Leicester Riders on the road at the John Sandford Sports Centre. They then have a week off, but there will be no rest for James as he coaches the England Select side who will take on Ireland in the warm-up game before the BBL Cup final between Riders and holders Newcastle Eagles at the NIA in Birmingham.
