Ralph Bucci
Durham Wildcats' veteran Ralph Bucci (193-G-75, college: St.Rose, NY) has been crowned the Molten BBL Player of the Month for December.

The guard excelled in the period, and whilst it wasn't always enough to inspire his team to the number of wins they craved, Bucci was undeniably outstanding in the five games he played during December.

He averaged the highest performance valuation per game of any player in the league and that's unsurprising, after posting some extraordinary numbers.

Bucci managed to rack up 15.2 points per game and co- led the BBL in assists with 5.6 per game.

He also did a magnificent job defensively, managing to harvest 2.8 steals per game - the third best in the league.

Perhaps most impressively of all, he showed that being a guard doesn't limit you to being effective on the glass by harvesting 10.2 rebounds per game (also the third highest in the league) to ensure he achieved a stellar December double-double.

His best performance came during a thrilling victory against London Lions, when he registered a brilliant and rare triple-double of 10 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists to guide his team to victory.

Bucci had to fight off some seriously stiff competition to scoop the award, especially from November winner Kareem Maddox of Newcastle Eagles who also enjoyed another scintillating month.

"It was one of those special nights and I'm glad we were able to perform," Surrey's head coach commented post-game. "I think we showed four quarters of maturity and it was great to come out quick in the thir...   [read more]
