Holmes
26-year old guard Travis Holmes (193-G-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Surrey Heat and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 23 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Surrey Heat in his team's victory, helping them to crush London Lions (#7, 7-11) with 23-point margin 96-73. Surrey Heat maintains the 3rd position in British league. They are still close to the very top. Surrey Heat would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-3 record. Holmes turned to be Surrey Heat's top player in his first season with the team. Virginia Military Institute graduate has very impressive stats this year. Holmes. Holmes is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.6ppg), rebounds (7th best: 5.1rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg,2.3spg and 58.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mike Tuck (201-F-83) of Sheffield S.. He is naturalized Canadian forward in his 3rd season at Sheffield S.. In the last game Tuck recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he lead Sheffield S. to another comfortable win 87-68 over slightly lower-ranked Manchester G. (#10, 6-11) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Sheffield S. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Tuck is one of the most experienced players at Sheffield S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Surrey Heat's star - forward Frank Holmes (206-F-84). Holmes scored 14 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was another key player of Surrey Heat, helping his team with a 96-73 easy win against the lower-ranked London Lions (#7, 7-11). Surrey Heat is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 12-3 record is not that bad... Holmes has a great season in United Kingdom. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.0ppg (7th best), rebounds with 8.8rpg (7th best) and assists with 2.0apg (best passer).
