As well as our Game of the Week, there are two other games in Division 1 Women this weekend.

Team Northumbria v Nottingham Wildcats

Saturday 12 January, 4pm, Sport Central

Fresh from picking up their first win of the season last weekend, Nottingham Wildcats travel to Cup finalist Team Northumbria on Saturday looking for their second.

Wildcats defeated Loughborough last weekend after starting the season with four straight losses and will be looking for revenge from their Cup quarter final loss at Northumbria when they went down 64-43.

Northumbria have a losing record in the league (3-4) and haven't played since December 16, so they will be keen to shake off the rust and gain some momentum prior to the Cup final at the end of the month.

Sevenoaks Suns v Manchester Mystics

Saturday 12 January, 6:30pm, Sevenoaks School

Manchester Mystics and Sevenoaks Suns rejoin the Division 1 Women action in 2013 where they left off in 2012 by facing each other.

The teams met in what was each of their most recent game on December 16 with Suns taking a tense 56-55 victory in Manchester led by 24 points from Cheridene Green.

The game will also mark the halfway point of the season for both of these teams and they will be hopeful of picking up momentum for a push up the table in 2013.

WBBL All-Star Five - Week 4 - 6 hours ago

There are two debutantes in our line-up this week and a player who racked up one of the biggest performance efficiency valuations in WBBL history. Georgia Jones (Manchester Mystics) The Great Britain playmaker sealed her third Weekly All-Star place in the opening four weeks of the new season, in what proved to be a special outing against Pride. Jones scored 15 points and also registered five rebounds and four steals; but it was her six assists that proved most significant as she became t...   [read more]

Cardiff Met Archers are one of only two teams still to record a victory in the WBBL this season after another disappointing weekend. The Archers were without the influential Judit Fritz(183-G/F-87, college: St.Francis, NY, agency: Interperformances) who missed her side's 87-37 defeat away at Manchester Mystics through injury. However, the star forward is refusing to panic over Cardiff's 0-3 start to the league campaign having lost all four games in all competitions. 'I have a lot of fa...   [read more]
