Bucci Bags Molten BBL Player of the Month Award Again1 - Jan 30, 2013

Ralph Bucci
Durham Wildcats' floor general Ralph Bucci (193-G-75, college: St.Rose, NY) has been crowned the Molten BBL Player of the Month for the second time in a row after scooping the prestigious award for January, hot on the heels of landing the December accolade.

Bucci has barely missed a beat during the last couple of months, starting the new calendar year in the same way he finished the previous one - in absolutely blistering form.

What will make this particular award even more special than the previous one is that this time around, his stellar contributions catapulted Wildcats' to a super three wins in four games, something which has given their play-off chances a real shot in the arm.

Bucci played five games during the period and in 35 minutes per game, averaged a fabulous performance valuation of 26.4.

That was unsurprising since he averaged another monumental monthly double-double, this time harvesting a wonderful 14.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game - once again demonstrating that size should never be a barrier to excelling on the glass.

Burying into the detail behind his points production, his efforts become even more impressive.

Bucci was one of the most efficient and deadly performers during the month, managing to shoot an eye-popping 70.4%. And, in yet another do-it-all series of performances, he also came up with a stunning 6.4 assists per game.

And, it didn't stop there.

For in addition to his hard work and hustle on the boards, he also did a great job defensively with two steals per game, to inspire Durham to victories against UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders and rack up a win double against play-off rivals Cheshire Phoenix.

It's been a great time for Wildcats of late who also had Brad Guinane and Andrew Keister make this week's BBL Team of the Week, whilst Keith Page and Bucci himself made the bench.
