EJ Harrison

There was plenty of excitement and talking points on Sunday evening as Rocks grabbed a last-gasp win over Lions, Charles Smith and Joe Chapman (193-G-84, agency: I.D.S. Law, college: Marquette) posted eye-popping performances for the rampant Eagles in the north-east derby and Michael Ojo racked up 40 points for Raiders in road win at Cheshire.

EJ Harrison (186-PG-76, college: Connecticut) was the hero at the Emirates Arena as Glasgow Rocks made it a weekend win double, albeit by having to do it the hard way by coming back from a 19 point first half deficit. The guard sunk a buzzer-beating triple to make it a very long trip home for the crestfallen Lions.

Charles Smith and Joe Chapman stole the show for Newcastle Eagles who routed neighbours Durham Wildcats 106-65 after opening the game with 40 points during the first period.

Smith poured in a mammoth 49 points and completed a double-double with 16 rebounds, whilst Chapman accumulated a rare and outstanding triple-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Finally, UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders had Michael Ojo to thank for a hard-fought win at Cheshire Phoenix after he claimed 40 points in the success whilst Matt Schneck added 23 against his ex-employers.
