Smith
Naturalized American forward Charles Smith (198-F-75) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Newcastle E., receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 37-year old player had a double-double of 49 points and 16 rebounds, while his team outclassed Durham W. (#10, 7-15) with 41-point margin 106-65. It allowed Newcastle E. to take over top position in the American BBL. Newcastle E. have a solid 17-2 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He has many years of experience at Newcastle E., through which he has constantly improved. Former Rider University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.3ppg) and averages impressive 48.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Michael Ojo (195-G-89) of Plymouth R.. Ojo had a very good evening with 40 points. Of course Plymouth R. cruised to a 100-93 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Cheshire P. (#9, 8-14). Plymouth R.'s 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 14-6 record is not bad at all. Ojo is well-known at Plymouth R. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.7ppg (#2).

Third on the list of top players last round was another Newcastle E.'s star - American guard Joe Chapman (193-G-84, agency: I.D.S. Law). Chapman showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, ten rebounds and eleven assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Newcastle E., helping his team with a 106-65 easy win against the lower-ranked Durham W. (#10, 7-15). Newcastle E. confirms their top position in the standings Chapman has a great season in United Kingdom. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (8th best) and assists with 6.1apg (best passer).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
