Rod Brown
The London Lions made a last second signing on transfer deadline day, snaring veteran point guard Rod Brown (186-PG-78, college: W.Michigan).

The 6'1" American spent many years playing in the UK before heading off to Europe to play in the big leagues in Spain and Italy. Now a British passport holder, Brown played this season at the UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders right up till last weekend helping the Devon side to victory over Durham.

Lions' Head Coach Vince Macaulay had this to say, "When it became clear that Rod and Plymouth had parted company we quickly put the wheels in motion to get him on to the team. We have needed additional veteran leadership and Rod will provide that in bucket loads."

A native of Texas, Brown graduated from Western Michigan University in 2000 before coming over to the UK to play for the Greater London Leopards. After three years with the Leopards he played at cross town rivals, London Towers.

Following spells in Greece, Spain and Italy, Brown played in Switzerland in 2011 where he won the Championship and Playoff's. At Plymouth this season, Brown is averaging 9 points and 6 assists a game.

Coach Macaulay needed to make some quick adjustments having lost a number of players to illness and injury followed by the departure of recent signee Mahmood Diakite back to France. "We are entering a crucial phase in the Playoff race and we have been down on numbers for a while, I'm delighted to get a player in especially one of Road's skill and experience."

The Lions are back in action this Sunday when they face the One Health Sharks Sheffield, tip off, 5.00pm at the Lions home of Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
