Stanley
Ocitti
32-year old power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-F/C-80) put on an amazing game in the last round for Worcester W. and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed London Lions (#7, 11-17) with 18-point margin 94-76. Worcester W. is placed at 3rd position in British league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Worcester W. will need more victories to improve their 17-9 record. In the team's last game Ocitti had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Worcester W.'s top player in his first season with the team. Binghamton University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ocitti is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.3rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg,52.7% FGP and 44.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Travis Holmes (193-G-86) of Surrey Heat. He is American guard in his first season at Surrey Heat. In the last game Holmes recorded impressive 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he lead Surrey Heat to another comfortable win outscoring Mersey Tigers (#12, 0-26) 99-71. This victory allowed Surrey Heat to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 17-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Holmes is a newcomer at Surrey Heat and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Worcester W.'s star - forward Kai Williams (190-F-88). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of Worcester W., helping his team with a 121-90 easy win against the lower-ranked Cheshire P. (#11, 8-19). Worcester W. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 9 lost games. Williams has a very solid season. In 12 games in United Kingdom he scored 15.4ppg. He also has 5.0rpg and FGP: 60.0%. Kai Williams has also British passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Andrew Keister (205-F-88) of Durham W. - 18 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Samuel Cricelli (200-F-85) of Surrey Heat - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Kareem Maddox (202-F/C-89) of Newcastle E. - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Ralph Bucci (193-G-75) of Durham W. - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80) of Worcester W. - 22 points and 7 rebounds
9. Travis Holmes (193-G-86) of Surrey Heat - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

WBBL Round Up Sat 25 March - 6 hours ago
The history keeps on happening in the WBBL and it proved to be a landmark and dramatic Saturday as Caledonia Pride came back from a double-digit deficit to stun Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters 79-78 and take a first ever home floor victory. Natalie Bastian sunk the crucial free-throws at the death and also top-scored, but it was a pair of go-ahead triples from Scottish guard Hannah Robb heading into crunch time which made the difference. There was then drama at the unveiling of the...   [read more]
