The top three teams in the WBBL Championship dominate the starting line-up in the Molten WBBL Team of the Year for 2015-16.

The WBBL coaches have given the thumbs up to players from Nottingham Wildcats, Team Northumbria and Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters in the starting five.

Amber Stokes has enjoyed an outstanding opening year in the WBBL with Nottingham and has proven a real handful for her opponents offensively and also been a terrific defensive weapon for the newly crowned league champions. The guard averaged a brilliant 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and two steals per game in the WBBL championship.

She is joined by her Wildcats' team-mate and another WBBL rookie in Ashley Harris, whose towering presence in the paint has seen her rack up a superb season double-double of 16.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She is also the joint-top shot blocker in the WBBL with 1.3 swats per game, having had a huge impact on her team's ongoing efforts to rack up a silverware double in Sunday's Molten WBBL Play-Off Final.

Getting ready to face Wildcats at The 02 in a season climax which will be screened live on the BBC red button and via BBC Sport online, is Fiona O'Dwyer of Team Northumbria. Now in her second WBBL campaign, the forward has continued her super form from last season and helped her side to both reach their first showpiece WBBL Final and best ever league finish after contributing 14.4 points and 9.3 boards per game for the WBBL Championship runners-up.

Great Britain wing Helen Naylor is also given the nod after she led the WBBL in scoring by pouring in 19.3 points per game for Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters who lifted the WBBL Trophy at the Barclaycard Arena back in January. The Doncaster native was also in the top five for assists after handing our 3.6 per game in what is a much overlooked part of her varied skill-set.

Another Hatters player is included in the starting five in the shape of Baendu Lowenthal, who having played in the highly rated Czech League, hit the ground running at WBBL opening weekend and never looked back. Like Harris, she also accumulated an eye-catching season double-double with 15.3 points and 11.6 rebounds per game - her points haul harvested via a truly stellar 61% shooting percentage.
