Here is the weekly review of the top performing British players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, currently plays in Iran). He led Naft Abadan to a victory over the fifth-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-1) crushing them 100-80 in the Iranian Superleague in Friday night's game. Richards was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 14 rebounds in 27 minutes on the court. Naft Abadan (3-1) is placed first in Group 2. Richards has relatively good stats this year: 14.2ppg, 6.0rpg, 2FGP: 50.9%, 3FGP: 26.5% and FT: 73.9% in 13 games he played so far. He played for the British senior national team six years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Joel Freeland (209-87, currently plays in VTB United League). Freeland managed to help CSKA Moscow to win against the ninth-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (6-13) crushing them 101-65 in the VTB United League last Sunday. He scored 5 points. CSKA Moscow (17-2) is placed first in the VTB United League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Freeland averages: 3.4ppg, 2.1rpg, 2FGP: 41.7% and FT: 66.7%. He played for the British national team in 2014.

   #3. The British player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB, currently plays in Greece). Alihodzic was the main contributor in Panionios' victory against one of league's weakest teams Irakleio (4-15) crushing them 101-49 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Saturday night. He was the best player in that game. Alihodzic had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Panionios ON Telecoms Athens (19-1) is placed first in the A2. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Alihodzic's first year with the team. This season Alihodzic has relatively solid stats: 13.4ppg, 6.2rpg, 2FGP: 59.1%(101-171) and FT: 70.7% in 19 games. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and British. Alihodzic is also a member of the British senior national team.

   #4. An experienced power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Bellarmine, currently plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Cyberdyne IR's victory against the fifth-ranked Bambitious Nara (15-27) 88-72 in the Japanese B League D2 in Saturday night's game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots (17-25) are placed fifth in East group. Larkai's overall stats this season are: 5.9ppg and 3.8rpg. He used to play for the British national team back in 2013.

Former international guard Luke Nelson (190-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the University of California - Davis (9-2) crushing them 79-49 in the NCAA last Saturday. Nelson recorded 29 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds in 27 minutes. The University of California-Irvine has a solid 8-3 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Nelson is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Cal-Irvine's roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Nelson averages: 17.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.7spg in 13 games. He used to play for the British national team three years ago.

Forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington, currently plays in Japan) contributed to an easy victory against the league leader Kanazawa Samuraiz (25-3) 64-48 in the Japanese B League D3 on Sunday night. Bryan-Amaning recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Fukuoka Rizing (24-4) is placed second in the B League D3. It's Bryan-Amaning's first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Bryan-Amaning averages: 16.5ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.4apg, 1.3bpg and 1.2spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior British National Team roster.

Former U20 international forward Rowell Graham (197-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (7-16) 81-63 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Friday night's game. Graham scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. Comercial Ulsa Ciudad de Valladolid (13-10) is placed sixth in the LEB Silver. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Graham has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.2bpg and 1.4spg in 21 games. He used to play for the British U20 national team three years ago.

   #8. Swingman Akwasi Yeboah (198-97, currently studies in the States) contributed to a Stony Brook's victory against the Binghamton University (7-7) 70-60 in the NCAA last Wednesday. Yeboah recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 16 rebounds. The State University of New York,Stony Brook has a very solid 11-3 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Yeboah's overall stats this year are: 9.3ppg and 5.0rpg. He used to play for the British U18 national team back in 2014.

International point guard Ogooluwa Adegboye (182-87, agency: Octagon Europe, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Italy) helped Unieuro Forli win their game against the 11th-ranked Piacenza (10-13) 91-77 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) on Saturday night. Adegboye scored 15 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 35 minutes. Unieuro 2.015 Forli (5-18) is placed 16th in East group. They ended the series of thirteen consecutive loses. Adegboye has very impressive stats this year: 17.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg in four games. He is also in the roster of the British national team.

   #10. Power forward Laurence Ekperigin (200-88, college: Le Moyne, currently plays in France) could not help Nantes (9-11) in their last game. Despite Ekperigin's very good performance Nantes was crushed 87-65 on the road by the lower-ranked (#13) Saint Chamond. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds in 31 minutes. Ekperigin averaged so far 11.5ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.5apg and 1.1spg in 19 games. He is a naturalized American. Ekperigin is a former international player as six years ago he still played for the British senior national team. Strangely he has never played in United Kingdom.

   #11. International guard Teddy Okereafor (193-92, agency: Promotex, college: Rider, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help The Flexx PT in their game against Banco di Srd in the Italian Serie A. Okereafor scored only 4 points. His team was defeated 81-75. Okereafor's overall stats this season are: 5.5ppg, 3.2rpg and 2.5apg. He plays currently for the British national team.

   #12. Former U20 international guard Nigel Van Oostrum (196-90, agency: Court Side, college: Park, currently plays in Holland) helped Zwolle win their game against one of league's weakest teams Amsterdam 89-74 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Saturday night's game. Van Oostrum recorded only 4 points and added 4 passes in 23 minutes. This year Van Oostrum's overall stats are: 4.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.5apg and 1.5spg in 22 games. He used to play for the British U20 national team back in 2010.

   #13. International point guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, agency: Two Points, college: Charleston, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Chalons-Reims in their game against JSF Nanterre in the French ProA. Lawrence scored 6 points and added 4 assists. His team was badly defeated by 20 points 93-73. Lawrence's total stats this season are: 5.4ppg and 2.9apg. He is also British national team player.

   #14. U20 international guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye (190-96, is currently at the American university) helped Bradley win their game against the Drake University 67-58 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Lautier-Ogunleye scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Lautier-Ogunleye's total stats this season are: 6.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.6apg. He plays currently for the British U20 national team.

   #15. Former international swingman Morayo Soluade (196-95, currently plays in Spain) helped Burgos win their game against the league outsider Marin 89-79 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Saturday. Soluade scored 10 points and added 3 passes in 16 minutes. This year Soluade's total stats are: 6.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg in 25 games. He used to play for the British national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have British passport but never been selected to any of British national teams:

   #1. Kofi Josephs (198-G-91, college: Fort Lewis, currently plays in Germany) led Hertener Loewen to a victory over the 14th-ranked Bielefeld (2-20) crushing them 87-62 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Josephs was the top player that evening. He scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds; not bad, considering it's only Josephs' third season in pro basketball. Hertener Loewen Basketball (10-12) is placed 11th in West group. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Josephs has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.6spg.

   #2. Nicholas Spires (210-C-94, currently plays in Sweden) could not help Sodertalje Kings (19-8) in their last game. Despite Spires' good performance Sodertalje Kings was crushed 84-54 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Uppsala Basket. He was the top scorer with 11 points. Spires also added 6 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 20 minutes. It was Sodertalje Kings' first loss after four consecutive victories. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Spires' total stats are: 8.4ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.4bpg in 27 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: British and Swedish.

   #3. Akeem Williams (178-PG-91, college: Mass.-Lowell, currently plays in France) was not able to help Hyeres-Toulon in their game against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (16-5) in the French ProA. Williams cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. Hyeres-Toulon lost 70-85 on the opponent's court to the second-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez. It was Hyeres-Toulon's third consecutive loss in a row. Williams has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.5apg in 21 games. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Williams has never played in United Kingdom.

   #4. Elliott DeFreitas (208-F, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to a Hawaii-Pacific University's victory against the Chaminade University (13-7) 96-90 in a derby game in the NCAA2 in Friday night's game. He recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Hawaii-Pacific University has a very solid 18-2 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. So now every game will be important. DeFreitas has averaged so far 9.2ppg and 4.8rpg.

   #5. Franck Kouagnia (201-F-89, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Eskilstuna (11-2) in their last game. Despite his good performance the second-placed Eskilstuna (11-2) was edged 112-109 in Lund by the lower-ranked (#8) IK Eos in the BEHS forts group. Kouagnia had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 17 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 31 minutes. It was Eskilstuna's first loss after five consecutive victories. Kouagnia has very impressive stats this year: 21.1ppg, 13.2rpg, 3.3apg and 1.5spg in 18 games. He is another player who holds two passports: British and Cameroonian.

   #6. Edward Alade (206-C, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Navy win their game against the College of Holy Cross 49-42 in the NCAA on Thursday night. Alade scored 6 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Alade has averaged so far 4.8ppg and 3.6rpg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Alade has never played in United Kingdom.

   #7. Solomon Rolls-Tyson (203-F, agency: Mansfield and Associates, college: E.Utah JC, currently plays in Norway) helped Kongsberg win their game against the closely-ranked Baerum Basket 78-68 in the Norwegian BLNO on Thursday night. He scored 7 points and added 3 assists in 17 minutes. Rolls-Tyson has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2apg in 11 games.

   #8. Joshua Palmer (201-F, college: Drury, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Drury University in their game against the Bellarmine University in the NCAA2. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 79-62 in the NCAA2. Palmer averaged so far 12.0ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.2apg.

   #9. Andrew Ramirez (188-G-97, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Hartford in their game against the University at Albany in the NCAA. He recorded 8 points. His team was crushed by 29 points 100-71. Ramirez has averaged so far 4.0ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.3apg. He has both Spanish and British nationalities. Despite Ramirez's British passport, he previously played for the Spanish U17 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the British team.

   #10. Deane Williams (203-F-96, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Augusta University in their game against the Columbus State University in the NCAA2. Williams scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team lost 57-62 in the NCAA2. Williams has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.3apg in 26 games.

Bristol Academy Flyers (BBL) re-signed 27-year old British V.Islands international forward Leslee Smith (203-111kg-90, college: Nebraska). He played there last season. In 34 BBL games he recorded 12.0ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg. The previous (15-16) season Smith played at Olimpi (Superleague) in Georgia where in 14 games he averaged impressive 17.4ppg, 12.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2.4spg and 1.6bpg.
