Nikita Kurbanov (202-F-86) has already found the new team. The forward has joined Spartak Saint Petersburg not long after parting ways with CSKA Moscow. The forward inked a two-year deal with Spartak. Kurbanov spent last three seasons with CSKA Moscow. He also played for the club several years in the past. Nikita Kurbanov had 4.6 ppg and 3 rpg for 5 Euroleague games last season. He also added 3.2 ppg and 1.9 rpg for 10 games in VTB United league. In Russian championship, the player had almost the same numbers. CSKA Moscow won the Russian and VTB League titles, plus their reached Euroleague Finals and lost it in thriller against CSKA Moscow. Kurbanov had limited playing time also from 2009/10 and 2010/11. Season 2008/09 he spent with Spartak St.Petersbut and played for CSKA from 2006 to 2008. The player split 2005/06 between Lokomotiv Rostov na Donu and CSKA, and in the past he also played for CSKA juniors. Nikita Kurbanov played for the Russian National Team at 2009 EuroBasket in Poland. He had 4.9 ppg and 1.9 rpg for 9 games.

Ryan Toolson signs contract extension with Zenit - May 30, 2016

Ryan Toolson(193-G-85, college: Utah Valley) and Zenit agreed on terms of contract extension. The guard has penned a new two-year deal with the Saint Petersburg team. Last season Ryan Toolson notched 18.5 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in EuroCup. In VTB League his stats read 17.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per appearance. Ryan Toolson had stints in Spain, Turkey and Italy before moving to Russia.   [read more]

Unics - Zenit 79-70 Unics outgunned Zenit in Kazan and clinched VTB League Finals appearance. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 28-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Zenit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Zenit - Unics 85-82 Zenit prlonged their semifinal series versus Unics. The Saint Petersburg team claimed a tough home win in Game 4 to force the decider in Kazan on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zenit dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Unics Kazan's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists.
