According to www.nbl.cz a familiar face will be back in Nymburk this week. The club has agreed to terms with Slovak National Team big man and ex-Nymburk star Radoslav Rancik (207-F/C-79, college: St.Cloud St.). The move comes in conjunction with the club releasing shooting guard Aubrey Coleman (193-G-87, college: Houston) who appeared in two NBL games and one VTB United League contest so far this season. The signing of Rancik fortifies a frontcourt that had been manned up to this point mostly by Petr Benda and Andrew Naymick. Rancik, 33, began this season with Inter Bratislava, appearing in two contests in the Extraliga averaging 23.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.
A seasoned veteran Rancik spent last season in Ukraine with Azovmash where he competed in Eurocup, VTB and domestic competitions, the same trifecta which Nymburk will partake this season. During his storied career Rancik, who graduated from Cloud State (NCAA2) more than 10-years ago, has played in France, Turkey, Italy and Ukraine in addition to his time in Czech Republic. It was during his three-season stint in Nymburk that he developed into one of the more dominant players in the Mattoni NBL.
A three-time Champion with Nymburk, Rancik was an All-Star, Player of the Year (2007), Bosman Player of the Year (2006) and MVP (2008). His finest season arguably came in 2007-08 when he led the NBL in scoring (18.3ppg), while shooting 58.2% on two-point field goals and an impressive 45.1% from three.
Aubrey Coleman had mixed results during his short time with Nymburk, not playing much, or effectively in two NBL games, while scoring a team-high 20 points against BC Nizhny Novgorod in VTB play, but in an embarrassing 66-82 loss and on 5-16 shooting.

Belarusian Vitali Liutych (198-SG-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kalev/Cramo and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25. The 24-year old shooting guard had the game-high 25 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Kalev/Cramo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Tsmoki-Minsk (#12, 4-15) 79-70. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Kalev/Cramo is pla...   [read more]

Round 25: Parma still unable to win any game - 7 days ago
The Regular Season in VTB United League is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Bottom-ranked Parma (0-18) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-72 loss to second ranked Zenit (17-3) in Saint Petersburg on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The g...   [read more]

Colom number one in VTB United League for round 24 - 12 days ago
Spanish Point guard Joaquin Colom (188-PG-88, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Unics, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24. The 28-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, three rebounds and nine assists) to as his team Unics maintains the 5th position in VTB United League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Unics will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 1...   [read more]
