Date: October 17, 2012 Undefeated Nitra (3-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (2-2) 102-84. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-84. SKP Banska Bystrica dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 44 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (193-90) fired 25 points for the winners. Croatian forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Five SKP Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. SKP Banska Bystrica's coach Miroslaw Grznar used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bahamas guard J.R. Cadot (195-87, college: TCU) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and Slovenian guard Maj Kovacevic (190-90) added 27 points respectively for lost side. Despite that victory SKP Banska Bystrica went down to fifth position due to points difference. Nitra at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. SKP Banska Bystrica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play on the road against Komarno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
