Date: October 22, 2012 The game in Samara was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kazakhstan BC Astana (3-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Russian Krasnie Krilya (1-2). BC Astana managed to secure a 5-point victory 66-61 on Monday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American center David Simon (208-82, college: IPFW) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jerry Johnson (182-82, college: Rider, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four BC Astana players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Aaron Miles (186-83, college: Kansas) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists and forward Nikita Balashov (207-91) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. BC Astana maintains third place with 3-1 record having just -1 point less than leader CSKA. Krasnie Krilya at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. BC Astana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Krasnie Krilya will play against PGE Turow (#10) in Zgorzelec.
