Date: October 22, 2012 Rather expected game when 6th ranked Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (1-3) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Russian Unics Kazan (2-1) 74-68. The hosts were already 21 points ahead at halftime and as many as 22 after three quarters before a 32-16 last quarter charge of Lietuvos rytas cut the lead to 74-68 at the end of the game. Unics Kazan made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Lietuvos rytas turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Lietuvos rytas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Greek power forward Kostas Kaimakoglou (206-83) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American forward Chuck Eidson (203-80, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 13 points and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 21 points and Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lietuvos rytas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan maintains fourth place with 2-1 record, which they share with VEF Riga. Lietuvos rytas at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Unics Kazan's next round opponent will be Kalev/Cramo (#8) in Tallinn.
