It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of VEF Riga. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 2-0 record before this meeting. VEF Riga's coach Ramunas Butautas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. CSKA Moscow have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Spartak SP and Khimky. Defending Latvian champion VEF Riga keeps the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Unics. CSKA Moscow is looking forward to face league's second-placed Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. VEF Riga will play on the road against Enisey Krasnoyarsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
