Date: November 2, 2012 Khimki overcame Union Olimpija in Friday opener at EuroLeague. The Russian team grabbed 75:65 victory for 2-2 record. The Slovenian side meanwhile fell at 1-3 record in Group A. The guests won the opening period 19-18 but could not match the opponents in the second frame. Khimki MR needed a 25-14 surge to take 43:33 halftime advantage. It was again Union Olimpija to start better the second half as they on the third quarter 15-13. Khimki MR ensured however the victory due to 19-17 in the last stanza. Vitaliy Fridzon top-scored for the winners with 20 points and K.C. Rivers notched 16. Sergey Monya posted 10, whilst Kresimir Loncar and Zoran Planinic had 8 each. Aaron Baynes responded with 27 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Dylan Page and Sasu Salin added 10 apiece.
