Maccabi snatched a narrow victory over ALBA in Berlin. Devin Smith accounted for 20 points as the Israeli champions improved at 5-0 record in Group B. ALBA slipped at 2-3 record after the loss. Maccabi held the hosts to 10 points in the first quarter to pull ahead. The Israeli powerhouse ensured a 6-point lead at the first pause. ALBA drilled 25 points in the second quarter to recover. The hosts narrowed the deficit at 3-point mark at halftime. Deon Thompson and Albert Miralles put ALBA in front 43:40 early in the third quarter. However Maccabi spurred back in charge and Guy Pnini made it 56:52 for the visitors heading into the fourth frame. ALBA got within two points 74:76 with just over a minute remaining. Devin Smith and Vule Avdalovic exchanged baskets but Heiko Schaffartzik missed a late three-pointer as Maccabi got away with victory. Guy Pnini netted 11 points, while Malcolm Thomas accounted for 9 points in the win. Nihad Djedovic paced ALBA with 17 points. Deon Thompson delivered 14 points in the loss.
