Date: November 11, 2012 There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Polish PGE Turow (1-4) crushed 4th placed Kazakhstan BC Astana (3-2) in Zgorzelec 93-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. PGE Turow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. French-Polish forward Aaron Cel (203-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center David Simon (208-82, college: IPFW) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and American-Guyanese Rawle Marshall (201-82, college: Oakland, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BC Astana. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PGE Turow left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BC Astana dropped to the third position with two games lost. PGE Turow will face higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#6) in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Astana will play at home against BC Donetsk.
