Regular Season Round 9: KK Split - Cibona 72-62 (20-17, 15-22, 21-11, 16-12)
Date: November 17, 2012 The most interesting game of round 9 was a derby match between two teams from Croatia. Twelfth ranked KK Split won against visiting Cibona (4-5) 72-62. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 37-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Toni Dijan (205-83) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four KK Split players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Split moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Cibona. KK Split is looking forward to face HKK Siroki WWin (#12) in Siroki Brijeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cibona will play at home against Zvezda (#5) in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
