Important game to mention about took place in Gdynia. Seventh ranked Anwil (4-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Asseco Prok. (4-3) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Asseco Prok. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 24 points during the contest. American guard Alex Acker (196-83, college: Pepperdine) responded with 19 points and his fellow American import point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Four Anwil and five Asseco Prok. players scored in double figures. Asseco Prok.'s coach Kestutis Kemzura tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Anwil have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 4-4 record. Defending champion Asseco Prok. keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Anwil will play against league's second-placed Trefl Sopot at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Asseco Prok. will play against Siarka Jezioro (#11) in Tarnobrzeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
