Date: November 25, 2012 Twelfth-ranked Vanoli Cremona (2-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked Banco di Sard. (7-2) in Sassari. Banco di Sard. managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 18-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. Banco di Sard. forced 20 Vanoli Cremona turnovers. Vanoli Cremona was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 7 assists. Polish forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St., agency: Stanley International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Banco di Sard.'s coach Romeo Sacchetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Vanoli Cremona. Four Vanoli Cremona players scored in double figures. Banco di Sard. maintains second place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Cimberio VA, which they share with Montepaschi. Vanoli Cremona lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Pesaro and Sutor MGR. Banco di Sard. will play against Armani Milano (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vanoli Cremona will play against Umana Venezia (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
