Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Russian BC Nizhny Novgorod (4-2) outscored at home 9th ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (1-5) 84-63 on Monday. The game without a history. BC Nizhny Novgorod led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas' 28. BC Nizhny Novgorod forced 19 Neptunas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Vadim Panin (203-84, agency: Alti Sport) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Slovenian power forward Primoz Brezec (216-79) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four BC Nizhny Novgorod players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BC Nizhny Novgorod moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Neptunas dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. BC Nizhny Novgorod will face league's leader CSKA Moscow on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neptunas will play against Lokomotiv (#3) in Kuban.
