The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Perth Wildcats dominated on the defensive end, holding Wollongong Hawks to just 7 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Wollongong Hawks' 24. They outrebounded Wollongong Hawks 43-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Perth Wildcats brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. American center Michael Dunigan (208-89, college: Oregon, agency: N.E.T.) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Perth Wildcats' coach Rob Beveridge allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Oscar Forman (205-82) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Rhys Martin (193-86, college: Nova SE) added 13 points and 6 assists in the effort for Wollongong Hawks. Four Wollongong Hawks players scored in double figures. Perth Wildcats (8-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Breakers. Wollongong Hawks at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Wollongong Hawks will play next round against strong Kings trying to get back on the winning streak.
