Date: December 9, 2012 No shocking result in a game when first ranked CSKA Moscow (7-1) beat 3rd ranked Lokomotiv (5-3) in Kuban 72-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Moscow. Lokomotiv was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Viktor Khryapa (203-82) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. CSKA Moscow's coach Ettore Messina used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Australian center Aleks Maric (211-84, college: Nebraska) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and guard Maxim Grigoryev (195-90) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lokomotiv. CSKA Moscow have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Khimky. Loser Lokomotiv dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. CSKA Moscow will face Triumph Lyubertsy (#5) in Lubertsy in the next round. Lokomotiv will play on the road against VEF Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
