The hosts of the game erupted with a 21-14 surge and dominated the first half. They led 46:39 after Zoran Planinic's two free throw at the end of the game. Panathinaikos Athens looked better in the second half and posted two narrow victories in the third and the last quarters. The Greek side reduced to 2 points at the end of the third period when they posted 20-15 in the third quarter. Moreover they won the last stanza 18-17 that was not however enough for the total win.
Zoran Planinic top-scored for the winners with 16 points, while Vitaliy Fridzon and Paul Davis tossed in 13 each. K.C. Rivers followed them with 12 points in a win. Stephane Lasme finished the game with 19 points in defeat, whilst Marcus Banks and Jonas Maciulis added 15 apiece. Dimitris Diamantidis ended up with 14 points in the losing effort.
