Regular Season Round 10: Zalgiris - Anadolu Efes 71-53 (20-15, 15-15, 23-7, 13-16)
Date: December 14, 2012 Zalgiris Kaunas overpower Anadolu Efes to win Group C of EuroLeague. The Lithuanian team needed a comfortable 71:53 win for 8-2 record on top and advanced to Top 16 stage from the first place. Anadolu Efes Istanbul finished third with 5-5 record and will also head to the next stage. Zalgiris Kaunas started the game with 20-15 lead and allowed the guests to score another 15 points in the second period. For the Turkish side it was enough however to tie the result in the quarter as they trailed 5 points at the halftime. The third frame became decisive in the game as Zalgiris erupted with 23-7 for 21-point advantage. Anadolu Efes Istanbul managed to reduce to 18 points after 16-13 in the last stanza.
Paulius Jankunas top-scored for the home side with 18 points and Marko Popovic as well as Mario Delas added 10 apiece. Ksistof Lavrinovic delivered 7 points in the winning effort. Kerem Gonlum ended up with 13 points in defeat, while Semih Erden added 11. Jordan Farmar and Joshua Shipp produced 7 points each in a loss.
