Regular Season Round 15: Lietkabelis - Lietuvos rytas 66-114 (22-23, 19-24, 12-33, 13-34)
Date: December 20, 2012 An interesting game was played in Panevezys where Lietuvos rytas (#7) rolled over host Lietkabelis (#4) with 48-point difference 114-66 on Thursday evening. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 36. Lietuvos rytas forced 22 Lietkabelis turnovers and outrebounded them 42-19 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lietuvos rytas shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lietkabelis' players. It was a great evening for Croatian center Leon Radosevic (206-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Tauras Jogela (203-93) with 18 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Latvian point guard Kaspars Vecvagars (193-93) scored 11 points. Five Lietuvos rytas and four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Lietuvos rytas went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Lietkabelis dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Nevezis and Juventus. Lietuvos rytas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lietkabelis will play against Siauliai (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
