Date: December 22, 2012 The most exciting game of round 14 in the BBL took place in Trier. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked TBB Trier (8-6) to sixth ranked Artland Dragons (8-6) 79-77 in the game for the fifth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TBB Trier won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely TBB Trier outrebounded Artland Dragons 35-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Serbian center Petar Popovic (211-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points. American guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. American swingman Brian Harper (206-85, college: Paine, agency: Pro One Sports) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and international center Andreas Seiferth (209-89) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for TBB Trier. TBB Trier's coach Henrik Roedl rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with TBB Trier and B.Muenchen. Artland Dragons is looking forward to face New Yorker Phantoms (#11) in Braunschweig in the next round where they are favorite. TBB Trier will play on the road against ratiopharm Ulm (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
