Date: January 5, 2013 Very expected game when 15th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (4-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked CAI Zaragoza (10-6) 79-74 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 32-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-79 at the end of the game. CAI Zaragoza made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-German guard Chad Toppert (201-85, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Pedro Llompart (190-82) who added 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four CAI Zaragoza players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese center Mouhamed Sene (213-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian forward Leonardo Mainoldi (203-85) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gescrap BB. Loser Baloncesto Fuenlabrada dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. CAI Zaragoza will face Blancos de Rueda (#14) in Valladolid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play at home against UCAM Murcia.
