Panathinaikos Athens won the first period 23-19 and led only 2 points at the halftime. Moreover Unicaja Malaga posted a 21-17 surge in the third period and grabbed 2-point advantage entering the last stanza. Panathinaikos Athens looked better in the last quarter as James Gist scored for 73:64 but the victory was not so easy. Krunoslav Simon reduced to 73:71 and then he missed an important three-pointer to tie the game. Michael Bramos made two free throws for 76:71 and Marcus Banks scored two free throws for the final success.
James Gist paced all the winners with 17 points and Marcus Banks as well as Jonas Maciulis had 14 each. Jason Kapono and Stephane Lasme followed them with 7 points each. Earl Calloway finished the game with 14 points in defeat, while Andy Panko, Krunoslav Simon and Luka Zoric notched 11 each.
