Date: January 13, 2013 Eighteenth-ranked Assignia Manresa (2-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Caja Laboral (14-3) on Sunday. The visitors from Vitoria managed to secure only six-point victory 101-95. However their fans expected much easier game. Assignia Manresa was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-21 charge of Caja Laboral, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-12. Caja Laboral made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Caja Laboral had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Assignia Manresa was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian power forward Nemanja Bjelica (209-88, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) produced 23 points and guard Javier Rodriguez (189-79, college: Boston Coll.) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Caja Laboral and five Assignia Manresa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caja Laboral have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record having just two points less than leader Real Madrid. Assignia Manresa lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Caja Laboral will face CAI Zaragoza (#6) at home in the next round. Assignia Manresa will play against Blusens Monbus (#8) in Santoago de Comp.
