Date: January 13, 2013 There was a surprise result in Badalona where eleventh ranked FIATC Joventut (8-9) edged higher ranked Blusens Monbus (9-8) 89-87 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 31-19 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. FIATC Joventut made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for FIATC Joventut especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Blusens Monbus was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) who scored 28 points. American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Alberto Corbacho (201-84) produced 22 points and American forward Robbie Hummel (203-89, college: Purdue, agency: Priority Sports) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. FIATC Joventut moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Unicaja. Newly promoted Blusens Monbus keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. FIATC Joventut will face Lagun Aro GBC (#17) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
