Date: January 17, 2013 Real Madrid sneaked past Unicaja in Malaga tonight. Rudy Fernandez fired 15 points to pace well-balanced effort from the visitors. Real exploded with 29 points in the fourth frame to come from behind for the win. Real opened the game with six points in a row to gain control. Unicaja soon cut the deficit but Real stayed in front throughout the first term. They arrived at the first intermission up by three points 19:16. Unicaja tipped off the second term with six straight points to spur ahead. Soon Andy Panko made it 34:25 for the hosts. Sergio Rodriguez (191-PG-86) dragged the visitors within six points at the big break 30:36. Unicaja used a 7:1 run at the start of the second half to accumulate a 43:31 advantage. They kept Real at bay throughout the period posting a 50:43 buffer into the fourth quarter. Real answered with a 10:0 rally to open the final period. The Madrid outfit extended the margin to as many as 7 points 59:66 with under three minutes remaining. Sergio Rodriguez and Jaycee Carroll made it 70:63 with just over a minute remaining in regulation and Real hung on to clinch win at the end. Sergio Rodriguez netted 14 points in the victory. Krunoslav Simon answered with 16 points for Unicaja. Fran Vazquez chipped in 12 points in the loss.
