American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 25 points and the former international swingman Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Flamengo. They maintain first place with 16-0 record. Loser Minas dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Flamengo will meet at home Pinheiros (#4) in the next round. Minas will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) and hope to secure a win.
