Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked ratiopharm Ulm and 5th ranked Bayern Muenchen had identical 12-6 record. This time ratiopharm Ulm used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Muenchen 83-75. It looked good early as Bayern Muenchen took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then ratiopharm Ulm had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Bayern Muenchen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-83. The winners were led by American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) supported him with 17 points. Five ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 4 assists by American point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll., agency: Priority Sports) did not help to save the game for Bayern Muenchen. His fellow American import swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 17 points for the guests. ratiopharm Ulm (13-6) moved-up to second place. Bayern Muenchen at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. ratiopharm Ulm's next round opponent will be TBB Trier (#7) on the road where they are favorite. Bayern Muenchen will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt.
