Top 16 Round 5: Anadolu Efes - Zalgiris 56-52 (15-8, 12-15, 14-13, 15-16)
Date: January 25, 2013 Anadolu Efes celebrates its fourth consecutive win in Group E of EuroLeague Top 16. The Turkish team won over Zalgiris 56:52 for 4-1 record. The Lithuanian team dropped to 1-4 record as they missed two close shots that could have sent the game to overtime.
Zalgiris looked poor from the very beginning and failed with 0-7 run from the start. Anadolu Efes won the first period 15:8 and led 27:23 at the halftime. The hosts managed to post defensive 14-13 in the third quarter and grabbed 41:36 entering the last stanza. Zalgiris however made their push later in the frame and took 6-point lead. Savanovic Dusko and Shipp Joshua tied the game at 49:49, while Zalgiris could not find the way to the basket. Lafayette and Darden missed around the basket in the last seconds and then Shipp Joshua brought the final victory for the hosts.
Vujacic Sasha top-scored for the winners with 12 points and Shipp Joshua netted 11. Savanovic Dusko and Gordon Jamon Lukas followed them with 10 points each. Darden Tremmell and Kuzminskas Mindaugas netted 10 points each in defeat. Lavrinovic Ksistof added 8, while Popovic Marko posted 7.
