Date: February 17, 2013 There was a surprise result in Zgorzelec where ninth ranked Polish PGE Turow (4-11) won against higher ranked Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (8-7) 86-78 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 50-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lietuvos rytas were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard David Jackson (193-86, college: W.Illinois) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 14 points. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian Renaldas Seibutis (198-85) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PGE Turow moved-up to eighth place. Loser Lietuvos rytas keep the fifth position with seven games lost. PGE Turow will face higher ranked BC Donetsk (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lietuvos rytas will play against Khimky in Khimki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
