Date: February 16, 2013 Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked CB Canarias (8-13) was outscored on the road by fourth ranked Valencia Basket (13-8) 105-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. CB Canarias was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia Basket shot 62.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Valencia Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for Brazilian center Vitor Faverani (211-88) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 4 assists. Eritrean-Polish swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, college: Washington St., agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. American forward Levi Rost (201-83, college: W.Michigan) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (209-82, agency: FCM) added 15 points in the effort for CB Canarias. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted CB Canarias keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Valencia Basket will face CAI Zaragoza (#7) on the road in the next round. CB Canarias will play against Blusens Monbus (#10) in Santoago de Comp.
